Lockdown update
Hi Guys 😉
I hope you feel good wherever you are (in this strange world we are experiencing at the moment).
I want to give you a little lock-down-update and some info about why, my online shop have been, closed for months. When most on-line shops have increasing outcome & traffic these times.
Here in south Spain we have been in “state of alarm” for over 50 days now.
Which, fortunately (at least) gives me a lot of time, to paint, and do all kinds of creative things in our home.
(We have to look at the bright side in every dark moments)
This is my latest dot-creation “The Majestic Owl” painted with UV-Paint on a 80cm circular canvas.
Changing manufactures in the middle of a worldwide lockdown
About my shop, the printed products I had (before Covid19) was, at that time from 2 different suppliers, because I was changing, to some more sustainable, quality-minded & “greener” manufactures in Europe, instead of the existing manufactures I had in China & USA.
I had only tested 2 products from one new manufactures in EU – when suddenly the existing manufacture, in China in January was put on lockdown, because of Covid19 outbreak. Leaving me with only 2 test products from EU to put in the shop, besides my dot-paintings.
Just before the lockdown started in Europe, I was on a holiday in Denmark and before I left Spain, I ordered some new test-products from 2 manufactures in Europe, and hopefully get the shop up running again, quickly. These test-products was planned to arrive, to my boyfriend (while I was in Denmark), so he could see them, as soon as possible and send me videos so we could decide, if the products was good enough to put in the shop.
Suddenly Europe was locked down
Spain and Denmark started to close their borders, and I had to buy a new return ticket, to get quick (9 days before scheduled) back home to my boyfriend, before they shut down the airports and borders. While I was on in the air, back to Spain, the prime minister declared “state of emergency alarm” and forced everyone to stay inside, unless we were buying necessaries, or going to the bank, we would get a 600€ fine – now all my packages were stocked at the post office. And the small post office, where my package was, was closed for many days.
Finally came the day when, the post office opened, and my boyfriend went down to get it – but was told that both parcels was send back, because it was not picked up (LOL) 😀 this is not even funny – and again a little 😀 We have been told to stay inside, – but apparently the Spanish post “service” (Correos) didn’t find it necessary, to wait to we were allowed to pick it up. 😀
But I’m not giving up!
Two test-products has arrived
While writing this blog, I have received 2 test products from one of the new manufactures – a Beach towel, with the Sun-catcher dot-painting.. wauw.. 😀 it´s really good.. Print is so colourful and it is handcrafted, with exceptionally high standard & quality.
I have now test-washed it two times, on 40 degrees without any colour-fading, and I thought before washing it, it was a bit stiff, but after the first wash it got really soft.
What´s not to LIKE 😀
Time for a new beginning
Because of the new-discovered and really good artisan manufacture team, we have decided to collaborate with them in the further.
With the better quality, and a much more sustainable production, I can do this with a good feeling in my heart, for the love of mother earth.
But with good and sustainable production, also comes higher prices, so we need to do more test on more products, to make sure everything is produced with same high standard.
I have now ordered more test products.
Blankets, Leggings, Hoodies, Pillows and facemask.
Updates on the site!
I will only put up printed products in the shop, I have tested myself. This means, the new store will open with a small amount of products, and a bit by bit, as I receive more great test products, they will be put up for sale.
The shop needs some modifications to put up the new products from the new manufactures, which means:
The following week(s) we will update the site, which can give the site a funny look or some pages may be offline occasionally.
(But overall the site should run smoothly)
New Dot-Paintings will be online soon
As I wrote to start with, the positive thing about the lockdown, is that I have had, a lot of time to be creative, new colours on the walls, and all kinds of decoration at our home and of cause… 😀 new dot-paintings 😀
They will be put up on the site and the shop soon, as we will take pictures within a couple of days.
Looking forward to show you them 😀
Want to show your support?
As an living artist, its not easy to earn money on art to make a living, so normal I do freelance jobs, wall paintings and more, to make sure i can pay for my bills, updating and maintain this site.. But this Covid19 period, has made it impossible for me to work, with any freelance jobs since the lockdown started.
Therefore I have lowered the prices for my dot-paintings and my webmaster have made it possible for people to send a donation on the site!
The best way to support me, would be if you would like to buy any of my paintings 😀
But at the moment I know many of us, is in the same position and using money on art, is not possible for many these days, but I would really appreciate A LOT if you would share my site, with people who you think have interest in dot-art or wall decorations. <3
As it seems right now, I am allowed to leave my home and to ship out my paintings, if anyone would like to have something dotty and colourful to look at, while staying at home 😉
It´s a bit unsure if all countries are open for transport/import – but it is possible for most countries, so if you are interested, please contact me, to see what is possible for your country.
Thank you for reading this blog – hope you will come back soon 😉
Please take care of yourself & the people around you.
Kind & Colourful Greetings
Natasha
